When using Folder Browse type on Ricoh MFP, folders show in other than alphabetical order. Is there a component or function to have the folder names show in alpha order?

Hello,

In my installation, I had an old MFP model (MP C2800). We change this old device for a last model (MP C3503).

I want to use the same process. My device has the same IP address.

I update Autostore (Ricoh ESA Updates v4.00 // Component version 6.0.2.3, Xlet Version 6.2.4 (8/6/2013))

I install Autostore on the MFP via WIM, with IP parameter directly in the good XML file (in the zip file)

After that, when I go on my MFP, I have an error message :

"Failed to load Screen Definitions : Invalid or Expired Licence"

I made an error ?

Folder Browse and Send to folder on Mac OS 10.7 Server

Customer has Autostore Express 6 installed on a Windows 7 Professional workstations. Configuration is from a Ricoh ESA-Abbyy-Send to Folder. The share is a Mac OS 10.7 Server.

From the workstation, I can access the server shares, login, and write a file to the share. The built-in scanning from the Ricoh MFP can write a file to the share.

Per the Knowledgebase article about non-windows shares, I have created a admin user on the PC with the same username and password as the Mac share. I am using this account as the service account.

The customer was also "promised" the ability to Folder Browse to these shares from the Ricoh MFP. Using the Folder Browse Type, pointing to the root \\192.168.1.10\share, I am unable to see the folders. Is this possible with Mac?

I have set a direct path to the share, with only a File name RRT. When attempting to scan with Autostore, I am unable to create the shared folder. Identical setup, pointing to the PC share, works fine.

I am assuming the Windows account created does not pass the credientials the same as the Mac does. Is there a seperate connector that can be used for passing credientials to the Mac share? Has anyone been successful in scanning to a Mac server?

I placed a call to NSi Support while onsite, but the tech was not familiar with Macs, and could not escalate the call. The only suggestion was check permissions on the folder, which I have.

Barcode splitting and consecutive numbering, based on a previously entered Number

Hi

That is the matter:

A stack of documents to be recorded on a Ricoh MFP with NSI client.
It becomes a document number eg 1100 entered NSI separates the stack using barcodes and names now, starting with the 1100 consecutively all documents.
What is the solution? Do I need to solve with a script

Document 1 = 1100
Document 2 = 1100 +1 = 1101
Document 3 = 1100 +2 = 1102

What kind of solution? Do I need to solve with a script?

Are there any scripts templates?

Populate folder browse?

Is it possible to populate the folder browse field with Ricoh?

I was working with this demo  : http://forums.nsiautostore.com/index.php?/topic/1887-scripting-a-browse-folders-for-ricoh-esa/page__hl__browse

and it works great.  However, let's say the customer has another folder within the sub folder they want to scan into.  My thinking was, to allow them to choose the "Primary Folder", do the search and choose the "Sub Folder" and then have that string (i.e. "C:\AutoStore\Files\Charts\MyFolder") populate into the filed that is set to "Folder Browse".  So that the folder browse option then is popluated with what the user just chose above.

Hope that makes sense.

Authentication to determine permissions?

We have our domain setup so each user has their own folder.  No domain account has access to these directories for security.
So for mine it is "\\server\User\cadkins".

I have AutoStore running under a my account

I have Active Directory authentication turned on as well as LDAP (this works when testing)

I have a workflow set up so that the user has to log in with creds.  This works well.  I have a folder browse option so the logged in user only sees their user directory (\\server\users\username).  I can browse the folders there but not any higher which is what I want.

Here is the issue though.  It seems that these credentials are not passed to the route component.  If I go to the machine and log in, choose my folder, the scan goes through as it should.

But, if a different user logs in, they can see all their folders and browse them but when the scan goes through, I see "Access Denied".
I used an RRT of the users name from the login to check security and in the Status Monitor it shows that the user has access to the folder.  But then it says "Access Denied".

Is there any way to pass the credentials to the route component?

Error Code: Communication error SMB Server

I have connected the printer (SP 204 SN) to the server and have it up and running, however I have a real issue trying to scan to a folder. I have created a shared folder with full permissions entered the computer's IP address in the printer driver options (Printer Configuration>scanner) and set up a directory to the shared folder. When I try to scan something to the set up scan slot number, I get an error on the printers display saying: 'Communication Error SMB server'. I cannot find anything on the net to help me with this issue and i was hoping somebody could shed some light on the situation, thankyou.

Device Name not updated

Has anyone seen a situation where you change the device name on the Ricoh MFP and AutoStore continues to use the old device name?  We are using the Ricoh RRT for Device Name.   The device shows the correct name, we have restarted the device, uninstalled and reinstalled the Java app for AutoStore and also restarted the AutoStore service.  The old device name continues to be passed into the RRT.....  We are using the device name in the folder path so we need it to reflect the correct name.   We have tried to change the name on about 10 devices and all of them exhibit the same behavior.

The purpose of this statement is to clarify NSi’s position regarding AutoStore and the Ricoh MPC301-305 devices.



NSi AutoStore and the Ricoh ESA Component

NSi AutoStore offers support for over 100+ Ricoh devices with the Ricoh ESA component.  On June 11, Ricoh Americas expanded its lineup of A4 MFPs with the new color Aficio MPC305 and the monochrome MPC301SPF.  These new devices have a smaller front panel, 4.3”.  After careful analysis by the NSi Engineering team it has been determined that the level of effort required to support these new models with the reduced front panel would require significant changes to AutoStore which are not planned in the current roadmap.  Therefore, at this time, NSi will not be incorporating these models in the list of supported devices.

Hi,

is there a known problem or limitation with Ricoh ESA Device Manager and the new GWNX SDK 10.x (MP C3002) devices ?

When I try to install the xlet the status jumps from checking, to install and starting in less than 3 sec and if I check the xlet is not installed.

White screen

I have a problem with a client.

We have Autostore 6 with all the latest updates installed on a Windows 7 workstation. In Autostore we have a simple flow with pdf/excel/word via scan-to-mail.

My client have problems with the display on the Ricoh MP C3001 going all white, it just freezes, when trying to use Autostore. Usually it works if we restart the MFP but it is still not an option in the long run.

Anyone have any idea?

Hello all,

I want to create 4 buttons one my Ricoh MFP, 4 different process (very different : one with OCR, one with a specific file format, ...). I search the "best practices  for do that, and I don't find any documentation about that :)

If you have a sample, it's best for me of course :)

(I work with AutoStore 6)

bad scanquality scan to pdf but good quality with abby?

hi all.
we've just received a new printer envioment for our company with Aficio MP C3002 and Aficio MP C4502 Printers.
we've also upgraded our nsi software fom 5.x to 6.x.
now there is the problem that scans which are directly created to pdf have very poor quality compared with the old ricoh printers we have.
the only way to gain quality at the moment is to scan everything to mtiff and convert the files with abby fine reader, which takes very long when a few users scan 30+ pages.

does somebody have a advise for me, how to solve  my problem?

AS5 with cac/piv3 on MPC6001 & MP7001

I have AS5 on a 2003 Server.

I have installed the Autostore client on 60+ Ricohs a mixture of MP4001 & MP5001.

There are 2 devices I'm having problems with, MP7001 & MPC6001. After rebooting the device, user is able to login with PIV card select the Autostore client and the menus show up on the panel. After about 5-10 minutes, the same user logs in with PIV card, enters pin, selects the Autostore client, but is now prompted for the network username & password.

the argumet I have on the dalp file is -a cap and it seems to work for the MP4001s & MP5001s

Has anyone seen this behavior?

Updating Menus on a Large Fleet of Ricoh Devices

A Ricoh customer has a large fleet of devices, over 200 Ricoh MFDs.  They have been upgraded to AutoStore 6.0.  If Service Pack 1 is installed and all of the corresponding components are updated (Ricoh ESA, AutoStore Frameworks, ect), what is the best practice as to the number of menus that should be updated at one time?  The customer would like a new form added but wants to limit the amount of time it takes to deploy to the new menu to the entire fleet.

Sharing Forms Among Ricoh Devices

Is there a way to share forms among Ricoh devices WITHOUT authentication?
I need to set up 50 groups for some specific tasks and I have 3 additional forms that I would like all groups to share.  I know I can copy and paste among groups but wanted a more simplified approach if possible.
